Aedan Crowe is a very traditional Scion, played by Zxaos.

Aedan was born and raised on the Isle of Man, the seat of Scion power. Great respect for Scion tradition was instilled in him by his parents. Eschewing a mundane education, he chose to pursue advanced studies in Scion history and lore, achieving what would be comparable to a Master's degree in the area. Following this, he was recruited as a member of the Clave, filling that role for close to fifteen years before being promoted to Alef Clave.

Several years after his promotion, Aedan found evidence that a member of the Clave name Austin Sawyer was "bending" Scion rules. After amassing a good amount of circumstantial evidence, and using his authority as Alef Clave, Aedan levelled charges of treason at Austin. However, while the case was being tried by the Scion tribunal it came to light that Aedan's wife, Rose Zoccarato, had been having an affair with Austin. His charges confounded by the popular belief that Aedan had brought the charges against Austin as retaliation for the affair, the case against Austin was dropped. In reality, Aedan had only learned of the affair during the course of the trial.

Divorcing Rose shortly after, Aedan maintains the belief that Austin is a dangerous traitor, and that he continues to bend and break Scion law.

In the course of his duties as Alef clave, Aedan has taken on his first apprentice, Jonathan Tamir Kendall, presumably in an attempt to counteract Austin's 'corrupting' influence on Tamir's sister, Mary Francis Kendall.

Aedan believes in strict adherence to Scion law. If an exception must be made, it must be approved of by the Council. While he does not necessarily believe that all of the laws are correct or problem-free, he believes that while Clave members may question the laws, they are bound by their oaths to uphold them. This attitude has caused him a great deal of stress as the views of the general Scion population have shifted to more liberal policies while the laws have not kept pace. Because of this, he has the propensity to overreact in some cases in the interpretation and enforcing of these laws, as if he can compensate for the flexible interpretations of other Clave by himself enforcing the laws to the letter. Further, the disastrous end to his marriage and the subsequent loss of credibility have left him embittered and isolated.

Aedan is an expert at countermagic and illusion spells, surpassed in these areas by no mage outside of the ranks of the Scion Council. As Alef Clave, he also has a very well rounded and deep understanding of combat magic.

Aedan is currently a member of the Alef Clave and is mentoring Jonathan Tamir Kendall
