In 2009, the world was changed.
This is what happened after.
On December 21st, 2009, an event that would be known as the Shockwave changed the world forever. In a moment, millions of people lost their lives, thousands lost their sanity, and the British Isles were decimated by a mysterious explosion. Around the world, some individuals found themselves marked with mysterious sigils that seemed to imbue them with powers straight out of their imaginations. Every day, more children are being born with these sigils. The world has changed.
Aftershock picks up six years later. The year is 2015, and the planet has adjusted to the fact that some of its citizens are being born with powers and abilities beyond the human norm. Technology has advanced, and the economic climate has recovered from the loss of the United Kingdom, which is now a ruined land, quarantined by the surrounding governments, where things are just… wrong.
In this new world of powers and forces beyond our control, where the impossible is suddenly real and magic exists, who will you be?
//NEWS: Hello, Aftershock!
I think it's safe to say at this point that the timing was off for this room. Real life has suddenly kicked into overdrive for both Zxaos and myself, and it looks like several other people are also wrapped up in real life and/or other projects.So, as sad as it is for me to say this, Aftershock is going to be put on hiatus for the time being. Maybe in the future the time for Aftershock will come again, and I'm certainly not opposed to still playing in this setting from time to time! So, I'll still be available on IM, so feel free to poke me if you want to chat or get some play going or anything! Don't be strangers!
